Sarah Beth Edwards brings us a fun and chaotic anarchic punk-rock murder mystery rom-com, FALL BACK DOWN, which will be virtually screened at qFLIX Worcester: New England's LGBTQ+ Film Festival, on Saturday 14 November, 8pm EST (Sunday 15 November, 1am BST).

Set against the backdrop of a fictionalised Vancouver underground, FALL BACK DOWN is a queer-punk romp brimming with heart and attitude. Nick Colby (Andrew Dunbar), a once fearless and passionate activist punk, is now a shadow of his former self after his radical girlfriend, Lizzie (Jacky Lai), leaves for humanitarian work in Nigeria, and ghosted him. He spirals, abandons his activism, and gets fired from a string of dead-end jobs which lands him a job in a sketchy sweatshop. There, he meets uptight, combative new coworker, Reena (Aadila Dosani). Initially repelled by each other, the mismatched duo is forced together when they witness a murder disguised as a workplace accident and try to get to the bottom of things. Their journey of investigation and survival slowly rekindles Nick’s soul to doing and fighting for what is right.

Following its Official Selection and World Premiere at the Whistler Film Festival, Andrew Dunbar was named ‘Star To Watch’. FALL BACK DOWN has also made Official Selection for a range of 2020 festivals – including LA Femme International, SOHO International Film Festival, Cardiff International, Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, Female Filmmakers Film Festival Berlin, Workers Unite Film Festival, and Winner of Best International Film Award at the LA Punk Film Festival, Best Feature Film at Wales International FF, and was also part of the Official Selection of the Cardiff International Film Festival in October.

FALL BACK DOWN will be released in the UK on SVOD, alongside a series of digital screenings and special Q&A events.

“Fall Back Down feels like a warm hug, like a big inclusive family full of punks, misfits, weirdos, and outsiders … It’s fresh and exciting, lively and energetic”
